Wesley moved to the bay area from Vermont in 2016 to join Tyler Kobick and Joe Marcy at Design Draw Build.
As a Lead Carpenter and Project Manager, Wes is involved in all aspects of the construction process from pre-construction planning through to finish work. More often than not, you will find him on site leading our crews, interfacing with subcontractors, and building or in the office producing contract documents, tracking project financials, and scheduling work in order to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.
From 2010-2016, Wesley owned and operated a small design build company in Northern Vermont which focused on high performance Net Zero energy homes and rural co-housing. His practice focused on using building science, craft best practices, and a Yankee work ethic to produce durable, economical, and beautiful projects. His clients included farms, community groups, restaurants, and progressive individuals interested tailoring their built environment to integrate their lives and livelihoods with the local landscape. Completed projects include a net zero ready duplex, numerous Deep Energy Retrofits, and a master plan with key infrastructure build out for a regenerative land based community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
Wesley graduated from the University of Vermont where he studied environmental science with a focus on ecological engineering and the built environment. He grew up in northern Vermont working on his family dairy farm, enjoying superb access to the beautiful landscapes, and building river boats and tree houses. He currently lives in Rockridge, Oakland in a thriving, multi generational, intentional community.
