Festival + Event Design
DDB has drafted, designed, and helped manage over 200 projects for Superfly Entertainment (Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, The Great Googa Mooga), Phish Music Group, and Northland Design + Construction since 2010. Everything from large scale planning, planting, new development, stage and security measures, and shop/construction drawings have enabled structures that range from giant cookoo clock towers to pig roasters made from re-used volkswagons- the ‘Hamaggedon’.
In 2013, Old Town School of Music (Square Roots Festival) asked DDB to create custom installations including most visual art direction that included large entrance structures, art pieces, and visual way-finding.
In 2016, the East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC), hired DDB to manage the design-build of Sparc-it-Place, an outdoor event space with a stage and community market at the historic California Hotel in Oakland, CA. The space was built to engage local residents for community-oriented events, such as First Fridays .
